July already... Half way through 2018 and its been massive for JÁEN and it gets bigger this month with our first international trip to the USA. It happened so quick one minute we are having email conversations the next minute booking our flights to LAX in a matter of 4 days we were on our way to shoot the first Jáen international project with our new producer attached Alex Reid.
With Alex already on ground he was ready to show us around town. We posted up in west Hollywood and the next day got stuck into locking everything down for the shoot, location scouting online and out on the streets for a urban grungy vibe.
The song is for Havana Brown welcoming her back to the scene with our visuals. On the song features Rich the Kid he brings a smooth element to the song with a catchy middle verse. Our days drew filled doing the canyon run and wandering fairfax while we await some times to check out some lofts in downtown LA for a shoot location.
When we get there its exactly what we are after, and it looks just like the pictures.... That helps. Loft apartment with high ceilings, great natural light and then the owners shows us to the roof...This Rooftop access is insane, city views in all directions. This is what downtown LA is made for.
We spend plan our shots and game plan for the shoot day, head to a local camera rental house get our extra light set up and stands. We start filming Late arvo capturing some good sun through the window and head to the roof for dusk magic hour.
We continue to shoot well into the night, with a variety of light set ups and finally finishing on our street locations scouted previously. unfortunately Rich did not come out for the clip as he was away on tour. We rap the shoot just after mid night it was a surprisingly smooth shoot.
After this with a few days to go over the footage we put together our first assembly while we continue to see the west coast of the states seeing venice and spend a day at universal studios.
LA was a great success and when we land back in AUS the madness doesn't stop we roll straight into Splendour in the Grass, we have a a handful of friends playing the festival who have sorted out some tickets for us as well as our good friends from teepee love who gave us accommodation on site and its always the best vibe to post up at Splendour or falls.
We see Blessed, Joy., Manu Crook$, Bwise and more play and then we head back to our Burleigh home for a few days of recovery, but there is always work to be done. Plenty of music videos on the edit pile and now our Splendour live vids and recap to come. its not long before we are back on a plane to Sydney for a shoot to come and we spend the last ever party at THE STU, a place many artists from Sydney called home. We are humbled to be apart of this team of creatives and witness the end of an Era but the beginning of much more....Enjoy!
